Guests may find it easier to navigate to Chase Farm Glamping by using the App What Three Words, which you can use online or download onto your mobile phone.  This App essentially divides the whole world into 3 metre squares and gave each square a unique combination of three words, hence the name.  

By typing these three unique words into the website or app, you can identify the precise location of Chase Farm Glamping, and it can even direct you there too.

Leave M23 at junction 11 and take the A264 exit to Horsham / Pease Pottage Services.  Follow the A264 to Horsham and turn left at the Great Daux Roundabout to join the A24 southbound.  Follow signs to Southwater and take the 3rd exit at the Hop Oast Roundabout on to Worthing Road.  Take the 2nd exit at the next roundabout and stay on Worthing Road until you reach The Tipsy Fox pub. Where you turn right up Church Lane and pass the Church on your left and the cricket ground on your right.  After the hairpin bend, take the left fork in the road on to Shaw’s Lane.

After passing the McDonald’s Service Station on the left at Buck Barn / West Grinstead, take the first exit off the A24 to Southwater via Mill Straight and Worthing Road.  Cross over the roundabout and turn left after 0.8 miles at The Tipsy Fox.  Drive up Church Lane and pass the church on your left and the cricket ground on your right.  After the hairpin bend, take the left fork in the road on to Shaws Lane.

For the Airstream, follow Shaw’s Lane up the hill for 500 meters and Chase Farm Glamping is signposted at the fourth turning on the right, at the barn.  Enter the farmyard and carefully follow the track between the grain silo on the left and a green cladded barn on the right.  Follow the concrete track around the lake, pass the Shepherd’s Hut on the right until you reach the Airstream on the right.

There is off-road parking for up to two vehicles next to the Airstream.  The ‘What 3 Words location is as follows:

Guests may park their vehicles at their own risk.  For your own safety, please leave the main farm entrance gate open.


There are two train stations nearby. Horsham, which is a main-line station, is 4.8 miles away (11 minutes by taxi) and Christ’s Hospital, which is very small and remote, is 3 miles away (8 minutes by taxi).

Horsham has more trains running more frequently, and has a taxi rank and a bus stop in front of the main entrance.

You will need to get off at “The Tipsy Fox” stop outside Budgens on Worthing Road. Cross the road, and with the pub on your left and Budgens on your right, take the first left turning up Church Lane. Follow the road passing the church on your left and the cricket pitch on your right. After the hairpin bend on the crest of Bonfire Hill, take the left fork in the road on to Shaw’s Lane.

Continue walking up Shaw’s Lane for 500 metres and Chase Farm Glamping is signposted at the fourth turning on the right, at the barn. Enter the farmyard and follow the track between the grain silos on the left and a green cladded barn on the right. Turn a sharp right when you see the planted-up cattle troughs in front of the lake. Follow the concrete track around the lake, passed “The Look Out” Shepherd’s Hut on the right and the Airstream is just ahead on the right.  

Please be aware that there is a 0.8 mile / 17 minute walk uphill from “The Tipsy Fox” bus stop to Chase Farm Glamping, which is on a country lane that is unlit and without pavement beyond the church, so make sure you bring a torch.

Christ’s Hospital train station has fewer trains, but they are often the fast trains between London and the south coast. Please note that there is neither a taxi rank nor bus service to Southwater at this station. There are, however, a number of local taxi companies operaFng in Southwater, so if you plan ahead, you could pre-book and arrange to be met at the station when your train pulls in.

The nearest National Express coach station is at Gatwick Airport, South Terminal. From there, you can either take the train to Horsham or Christ’s Hospital station (see above), or a taxi direct to Chase Farm Glamping.


A bike rack is available for guests to use. Please bring your own padlock. The bike rack is located by the glass window of the green cladded barn overlooking the lake.

Please do not bring bikes into the Airstream.

If you bring a bike, you do so at your own risk.

The main gate to the farmyard will be open for the duration of your stay.  It is very heavy and cumbersome to operate, so please leave it open and for your own safety do not attempt to close it.

The track surface through the farmyard is uneven, so we recommend wearing appropriate footwear when walking through the farmyard.

There are floodlights within the farmyard which come on automatically at dusk and automatically switch off around 11:00pm. You might want to bring a torch with you if you arrive after this time. There are lights over the foot bridge to the Airstream that come on automatically at dusk, and more fairy lights on the decking with control switches at the steps at each end of the decking. 

You will find the key in a secure Master Lock key safe on the left-hand wooden fence post by the decking area.  The code will be provided to you prior to your arrival.

Please ensure you have the blue spot on the key facing up when you place the key in the lock.  You turn right to unlock and left to lock, which is different from many standard locks.  Do not force the key the wrong way or you could risk it breaking in the lock.

A selection of sachets of tea, coffee, decaf coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, and herbal tea are available for your enjoyment along with some tasty biscuits.

The Airstream has a gas heating and hot water system.  You will find the heating and air-conditioning switches on the wall next to the fridge.  The pump switch nearby the hot water switch must be kept on so to enable the Airstream to draw in the water.  There will be a sound from the pump each time the taps are turned on, this is normal.

The hot water switch is the far-right side button of a set of four located on the wall in the bathroom.  When the hot water is switched on, there will be a sound of several ticks followed by a popping noise as the boiler lights up, this is normal.  It takes about 10-20 minutes to heat up the first time you start it. Please test the water in the shower before you get in as the hot water can be very hot.

Please ensure that you switch off the heating and hot water when not in use, and when you leave the Airstream.  Further instructions are in the Welcome Pack provided.

Chase Farm Glamping is an ideal location for families to come and explore the Sussex Countryside.  Please note that we are a working farm with machinery, tools, equipment and sometimes livestock present which can be dangerous for children to try and play with. 

There is also a deep and cold lake within the farmyard near the Iconic American Airstream.  This is not suitable for wild swimming, even if you wanted to!  Children must be supervised whilst staying at Airstream.

We just love dogs, and we want you to enjoy your holiday with them when they accompany you on your trip if they are coming with you. We permit two well-behaved dogs to stay for an additional fee of £40 per dog, per stay, which includes a special doggie welcome pack.

We do ask that you kindly follow our ‘Doggie House Rules’ so that both you and all our guests can enjoy their time with us.

  • We are a working farm, and whilst some of our furry friends just love having a good run around the fields, please keep your dog under control when around the unit, and on a lead when walking through the farmyard and on Shaw’s Lane. Never allow you dog to chase livestock or wildlife.
  • We don’t like the idea of your fur-baby getting lonely, please do not leave them unsupervised inside or outside your accommodation at any time.
  • Whilst your dog might get comfy on the sofa or bed at home, please keep your dog off the beds, sofas and soft furnishings when staying with us.
  • Although most people’s days are brightened by seeing a dog, please keep other guests and neighbours in mind during your stay.
  • We know your doggy may be excited about your getaway but, please keep in mind that there may be a cost for any doggy damages. If any accidents so happen, please let us know as soon as possible.
  • Your unit will come with dog towel, a dog mat, a dog feeding bowl and a water bowl. Please leave these in your unit after your stay for the next guest.  We know dogs love their own beds, bowls and towels so feel free to bring them. 
  • It goes without saying that your doggy may get muddy here on the Sussex clay soil! We can provide access to the ‘Mud Daddy’ portable dog washing device to really get your dog clean. Your accommodation also comes with a specific dog towel, please use this to dry your dog off and not the white Egyptian towels (which are for humans!). If your dog is particularly large or enjoys getting very muddy, then please bring an extra towel from home for them.
  • Please clean up after your pooch and dispose of their waste responsibly (no one like to see poo bags hanging from tree branches like decorations) and there is a dog waste bin provided in the farmyard next to the green barn. Some doggie poo bags will be ready for you in your unit on arrival.
  • There’s nothing better than when your four-legged friend comes with a friend of their own, but please note we cannot accept any more than two dogs per unit.

There are plenty of walks locally, as well as further afield, and details can be found in the Visitor Information file inside the Airstream. Alternatively, please do ask us for any suggestions.


Luxury bedding on a king size bed and soft towels, bath robes and slippers are provided for your comfort during your stay.  There is also a hair dryer, a pair of sleep eye masks and a hot water bottle in the bedroom, and shower gel, hand wash and moisturising hand & body lotion in the bathroom.

We can also offer additional accommodation for up to two extra guests either as two singles or one double. An additional fee of £30 per person, per night is applicable and all bedding and towels are provided.  The sofa can become a double bed or a single bed with the help of an inflatable mattress on top.

The dining area can also fold down to make up a single bed with an inflatable mattress on top.  We regret that for the comfort of guests we can only host a maximum of 4 guests and one infant in the Airstream.   We also have a travel cot available for a fee of £30.

For guests staying for more than 10 days, they will receive fresh towels and bedding mid-way through their stay.

The heating and hot water is operated by a gas combi-boiler, and the unit also benefits from air-conditioning. 

Washing up liquid, washing brush, kitchen cloth, scourging sponge, tea towels and oven gloves are provided.   The water from all the taps is mains drinking water.  The kitchen is well equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots and pans, tableware etc.

There are two bins in the property, one for general refuse and the other for recycling.  Please be mindful of the environment by ensuring that you recycle as much of your waste possible, and that it is clean and dry when disposing it in the relevant bin.

There is sofa and footstool with a smart tv on a rotational arm so you can watch your favourite Netflix shows from the sofa or dining area, just remember your password…  There is also a radio in the cupboard above the sofa.

There are holding tanks underneath the Airstream which retain the black and grey water.  These are emptied each day, and this will be done by the management sometime between 11am and 2pm.  If you happen to be in when this takes place, we will not disturb you, and it only takes a couple of minutes.  

If you need to empty your household and/or recycling bins during your stay, there are fresh bags in the drawer under the kitchen sink. Please place bags in the garden box outside the Airstream and notify us so we can come to collect it for you.

We have a ‘WallPod’ Superfast Charging Station with 32A Type 2 Socket installed at the farm yard of Chase Farm Glamping.  This is located on the wall of the green barn over looking the lake.  Bookings need to be paid for in advance and cost £30 per charge.

On the day of departure, please ensure that you leave the property as you found it, in a clean and tidy condition with furniture and fitting returned to their original positions.  Please return keys to the Master Lock key safe.

Rubbish and recycling should be removed from their relevant bins, the bags tied in a knot at the top, and left inside the Airstream by the door.

The bed should be striped of linen and place on the floor.  All used bath towels, bath robes, bathmats and tea towels should be placed in the shower. 

Finally, before you vacate the Airstream, please ensure that you have all your personal belongings with you.  If you find that you have left anything behind, these items can be return to you at a cost of £15 including post and packaging (please note that charges may be higher for heavy, large or valuable items).  Unclaimed items will be disposed of after 28 days.
